New Small Batch -- Costa Rica Magdalena Vega

Magdalena Vega inherited a large plot of land along with her seven brothers. Her slice is about five hectares, mostly made up of Caturra coffee trees. She produces only 4,500kg per year but takes immaculate care in all of it. She sells all of her coffee to a nearby micromill, Helsar de Zarcero, for processing. Ricardo Perez, the owner of Helsar de Zarcero, processes coffees from lots of nearby small farms, allowing Costa Rica to become known for micro lots of coffee. This lot, in particular, is a beautifully balanced and clean cup with notes of ginger, vanilla, and honey crisp apple.
